Alicia has committed her career to developing innovative ways of providing equitable access to care in the spaces where the need greatest, with a special focus on understanding the life experiences of underserved women and children who are isolated by systemic inequality.

Alicia is a former Deputy Director of Clinical Practice for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, a role in which she developed policy, informed legislation, and created programs to establish and sustain clinical and behavioral health services for children and families throughout the state of Illinois.

Miranda has been a part of the chrysalis team since 2010, and has worked with numerous contracts during her tenure.

An alum of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Aurora University, she holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and a masters degree in social work. She has provided intensive therapeutic services in detention centers, DCFS residential settings and group homes and has done individual, group and family therapies.

Outside of Chrysalis, Miranda continues to focus on decreasing the stigma of mental illness, while serving as a mentor, speaker and group facilitator.
